How to send a WhatsApp campaign

Send your first WhatsApp campaign in 3 steps: put your contacts in a group, create a template Meta approves, and send it to your group.

  1. Put your contacts in a group

Import a CSV file with two columns, phone and name, and choose the group to add them to. Write numbers with the country code and no + sign.

  2. Create a WhatsApp template

Template names are lowercase, with _ instead of spaces. Choose Marketing for offers and Utility for updates, and add a variable to greet each customer by name, with a sample value for Meta.

  3. Wait for Meta’s review

Meta usually reviews a template within minutes, at most 24 hours. You can send it once it is Approved. If Meta rejects it, create a new one with a new name.

  4. Send your campaign

Pick the template and the group, then send now or schedule it in your customers’ time zone. The campaign shows who it was delivered to and who read it.

How to build a WhatsApp chatbot

Build a WhatsApp chatbot with Flows in 4 steps: create a flow, choose the keyword that starts it, add a menu with buttons and an answer for each one, then test it from WhatsApp.

  1. Create a flow

Open Flows, click Create flow and give it a name (only you see it), then open Flow maker.

  2. Choose the trigger

Click Events, then Keyword, and type the word your customer sends. Exact match means only this word starts the flow. A flow can also start On Message (it answers any message) or From an Ad (people who click your WhatsApp ad).

  3. Build the menu and the answers

Add a Message with buttons, write the welcome and add a button for each choice. Then give every button its own reply: a text message, your address with a Maps link, or Assign to Agent so a team member takes over the chat.

  4. Test it on WhatsApp

New flows are on as soon as you save. Send the keyword from WhatsApp: the menu arrives in a second, and each button brings its answer. The switch in the Flows list turns a flow off.
